Social innovation is about how to do it better.
Well-being has a number of elements: freedom from hunger, disease, indignity and discrimination are four, as Amartya Sen states in his Idea of Justice (2009). They can be observed and they can be measured. Methods and approaches vary depending on purpose. The fact that whilst economies have grown substantially over the past 3 decades, well-being has not improved is showing the need to deepen the general understanding. Ethics, corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability must be the common ground when looking for creative approaches to give a helping hand to those in need.
