SOCIAL INNOVATION
Large structural changes are taking place across the world. They are disrupting business models and established ways of thinking. The changes resulting of these dynamics are creating winners and losers.
Unmet needs surround us and social innovation brings new ideas and new ways of thinking to the community, strengthening civil society. Many concepts are included in the term: microlending, e-learning as well as health care, democracy, environment, social entrepreneurs, fair trade or gender issues, just to name a few. Innovating in social fields has no boundaries.
Ciivil society will work stronger with governments, moving from an auxiliary role to lead players in the next phase of our economy. Promising ideas for the social needs will have to be supported and there is a sense of urgency that will have to be heard. Here, being extremely creative is critical.
